The fifth video blog entry for the documentary "WAJD: Music, Politics & Ecstasy" about Syrian-Canadian filmmaker Amar Chebib's journey exploring the sacred musical culture of Western Asia and its delicate relationship with Islam and the state.
Amar goes down to Konya for the week leading up to Şeb-i Arus, the commemoration of Rumi's passing. They meet Kabir Helminski, Mevlevi Sheikh and author, who explains the different traditions within Turkish Sufi music as we experience them.
