what might you get if you mixed up Sxrillex, Future man, a little Aphex twin and Jack DeJohnette, and made a 3 minute live performance using Ableton Live as a sonic platform? DJ SEAP (aka nigel sifantus) gives you a little taste on this improvised track "Ladies and Gentlemen". All sounds were created by SEAP as small loop segments, with nearly all the sounds created from scratch in Native Instrument's Massive. Many thanks to the people at massivesynth.com for all the amazing tips and great sound design community. The sounds are then either mapped in Ableton's Drum Rack as 1 shot samples with different settings to be played live like an MPC. other sounds are loops mapped out on the session screen and triggered using a Novation Launchpad. No global quantization is used on any of the loops so all the sounds are played live by the fingertips. Finally the amazing tool Touchable for the iPad is used as a mixer and effect controller in spots. The potential of this devise is endless.
