Petr Válek’s artistic aesthetic is emotional and seemingly intuitive. Consumer electronics, radios, keyboards, microphones and loudspeakers are subjected to brutal experiments and combined with objects that are electronically amplified and animated.
Petr Válek (1976) is a visual artist, musician, performer and sound artist who lives in Loučná nad Desnou in the Šumperk district and performs under the name Der Marebrechst. Consumer electronics, radios, keyboards, microphones and speakers undergo in his hands brutal experiments and he combines them with kitchen tools that are amplified and animated using simple electronics circuits and piezos. The objects rotate on turntables of prepared turntables and strainers, slicers, wires and springs turned into distinctive musical instruments and art brut kinetic installations.

These performances took place as part of the upcoming exhibition project Zvuky Kódy Obrazy: Akustický experiment ve vizuálním umění (Sounds Codes Images: Acoustic Experimentation in the Visual Arts) which will open in June at Prague City Gallery – House at the Stone Bell.
