Sugar Hill is famous for its fields of lupines. They hold an annual Lupine Festival, in the beginning of June, but this year the flowers came late so they didn't get a good display for the event. But on June 17th, they were spectacular, as you will see from this movie. The valley below was filled with an ocean of fog. It was a truly magical morning.
I found out about this place by asking my 350-strong email list if anyone had recommendations for fields of wildflowers. I have been dreaming of flying low over wildflowers since I first discovered a few examples, and it is becoming a particularly captivating focus to my videography. If you have other ideas for places and times when the wildflowers are going to be dramatic, please let me know.
