Evolution Biologist and Futurist Dr Elisabet Sahtouris, (Ph.D) and EARTHwise Founder Anneloes Smitsman (Ph.D.c) explore what we can learn from our living systems for a thrivability civilisation.
Dr Elisabet Sahtouris is a widely known evolution biologist and futurist, with speaking and media appearances on all five continents. After her post-doctoral degree at the American Museum of Natural History, she taught at MIT, the University of Massachusetts, contributed to the NOVA-Horizon TV series, and became a co-founder of the Worldwife Indigenous Science Network, a fellow of the World Business Academy with an honorary Chair in Living Economies, an advisor to Ethical Markets, a Fellow of the Findhorn Foundation and a co-founder of Rising Women; Rising World. She has convened international symposia on the Foundations of Science in Japan and Malaysia and is currently a professor at Chaminade University in Honolulu. Dr. Sahtouris has appeared in numerous films and is the author of EarthDance: Living Systems in Evolution, A Walk Through Time and Gaia’s Dance: The Story of Earth & Us. Now in her eighties, she remains passionately devoted to helping humanity navigate our perfect storm of crises to build a thriving future, seeing that as our evolutionary destiny.
