In the spirit of innovation, we used a method of communication that was as new as the Smart Grid itself: augmented reality. This technology gave people the ability to hold a 3-D hologram of the Smart Grid in their hands, bringing to life a concept that otherwise would have been quite difficult to digest. After only a week, hundreds of blogs had already picked up on the effort, and consumers were creating minutes-long videos of themselves using the augmented reality and posting them online for others to see.
