This is a short film I wrote produced and directed in 2006/2007 with a couple of friends. It was my first short, shot in SD with Canon XL1, edited in FCP and graded by a friend using Colour.
I had this idea in mind for sometime, along with a few others about the difficult relationship between this teenage girl and her stepmother. Originally I thought this was going to be just one scene of a much longer narrative, perhaps a feature. This particular scene seemed to have all the characteristics to be a strong short story in its own right. I decided to write it as standalone script. The budget was no more than £50 pounds. We borrowed the equipment and mainly spent it on food and refreshments for the cast & crew. The biggest challenge was to find a house with a grand piano for free.
