A simple gesture, temporary and subtle, and therefore even more meaningful: In the context of the Formula E race in Sanya we made the beaches our canvas.
The Race Against Climate Change is a campaign raising awareness for the threats of global warming initiated by Sir Richard Branson and the Envision Virgin Racing Formula E team. In the lead up to the Formula E race in Sanya, our client and the team’s main sponsor Envision tasked us to create an on-site touchpoint with the campaign and utilise the event to further strengthen public awareness and interaction.
Giving a voice to the supporters of the RACC campaign, we used the messages that participants wrote when signing their pledge on the Envision Virgin Racing website, as the content of our stunt. In the spirit of Formula E we built on innovative technologies and utilised a battery-powered mobile 3D printer to sustainably, without any plastic filament, imprint these pledges into the sand. Once printed however, they would last only hours before the incoming tides would wash them away: The Race Against Climate Change is a race against time.
