In 2004, after finishing his documentary "The Red Orchestra", http://www.rotekapelle-redorchestra.com, Stefan Roloff decided to try and find surviving members of the resistance group. Chances were slim as all known survivors had died. (The only person who was still alive in 2004 was Rainer Küchenmeister, who had been 16 years old at the time of his arrest.) Yet, Roloff's continued research over the years paid off when he found Katja Meirowsky. Part of the subsequent process was her introduction to the children of her former best friend and fellow art student in Berlin, Lisa Egler. Their meeting in Berlin, as well as information about Katja's art and resistance activities are documented in this trailer.
To take the viewers back in time, Stefan Roloff developed an animation technique, using Katja Meirowsky's visual diaies, which she had compiled from memory, after the war.
The project was produced by http://www.when6is9.de, funded by http://www.masshumanities.org/, with music by Martin Rev .
