During this one-month after school club students learned how to design and make a series of slip cast ceramic objects using intuitive VR sketching and modelling software. The project explored the boundaries between virtual and physical crafting and could be experienced in form of a Mixed-Reality touchable, launched at STORE Store in January 2019.
Each student was taught how to use the VR drawing software Gravity Sketch in order to create digital objects that were 3D printed and transferred into ceramics using slip casting techniques. The students digital designs were reproduced using plaster moulds, allowing for a series of different porcelain objects that were overlaid with a Virtual Reality experience in Unity.
