A child Alida Altemburg discovers a famous record of the pianist #GlennGould during a piano lesson.
Passionate about Gould, after twenty years, she decides to leave for Toronto to meet Glenn Gould's friends and collaborators in person and interview them!
In the first episode of "Nice to meet you, Glenn!":
we will know and discover together with Ruth Abernethy, international sculptor, how Glenn's sculpture "came to life" on the bench in front of Glenn Gould Studio CBC.
We'll talk with Lorne Tulk, sound technician, and friend of Gould, about the recordings at the Eton Auditorium (now The Carlu), the radio documentaries as "The Idea of North". We'll also talk about Glenn's humor and we'll have some scrambled eggs together at Fran's Restaurant ( the favorite Glenn's restaurant)!
Visit with us the birthplace of Gould where the pianist lived during his childhood and his school at The Beaches.
And last but not least: join the conversation with Brian Levine, Executive Director of The Glenn Gould Foundation who tell us about the iconographic image of Glenn Gould and the famous "Glenn Gould Prize"!
