Exploring the relationship between three dancers and three human sculptures, Still Touch is a collaboration between the critically acclaimed ensemble Richard Chappell Dance and internationally renowned sculptor Anna Gillespie. Created initially for Royal Opera House’s Month of Sundays Festival, the work examines the sensitive dynamic of touch between performers who are alive in perpetual motion and individual sculptures of people fixed in time and constant stillness. Still Touch embodies the weight felt on the body when a person is devoid of human touch and the lightness that can be discovered from connecting with people. The work will be a continuation of RCD's unique and distinguishable use of contemporary dance, ballet, improvisation and partner work in an intimate and rich new collaboration with visual arts. Still Touch dives into the combination of what people can express in motion and what sculpture expresses through image.
