This past January (2019) we asked donors to help Kathleen. Her childhood home hadn't been updated since she was a child and it needed A LOT of work. Kathleen and her dog Sweetie were at risk of losing their home.
Homeowners like her, who have worked their whole lives (Kathleen worked in the maintenance department at Bishop Luers) often find themselves facing fines and possible eviction because their fixed income does not stretch far enough to do repairs, which often turn into much bigger problems. Fortunately because of our generous donors, like you, this story has a happy ending and you won't believe the transformation in both the home and in Kathleen - now that she can sleep at night.
NeighborLink helps the vulnerable with tangible projects when they can't get help through current traditional social services.
At NeighborLink, when we hold a fundraiser, you'll always know where your donations go and we will do a wrap-up so you can see that your dollars were spent where we say they are going. We try and estimate as close as possible, and shut the fundraiser down as soon as we can when we hit our goal. Any dollars over go towards another project.
