St Bride Library opened in 1895 as a technical library and printing school for printers working on Fleet Street. The school was then moved to Elephant & Castle and is now the London College of Communication.
The library is considered the worlds foremost printing and graphic arts library.
This short film documents the traditional process of printing using an early hand iron printing press, the Albion press. This process involved patience and craftsmanship, and is a skill which is slowly fading.
Music taken from the song 1-100 from the album 'Decay Music' by Michael Nyman.
Filmed at St Brides Library
