Fifteen year old Rhett Williams has just learned how to weave traditional Houma baskets brought back from the edge of extinction by tribal elder and celebrated weaver Janie Luster. He shows us how he forages Palmetto and prepares the leaves for weaving. Janie recognizes Rhett's talent and spark. With the impending loss of their ancestral homeland to industry and climate change on their minds, both of them speak to the importance of keeping their traditions alive.
