"I was sexually abused when I was in elementary school, and around the same time I started pulling at my hair. I think it was kind of a relaxing thing to do at the time. Now that I'm older, the signs of this habit are really starting to show. I have permanently altered the shape of my hairline, and have almost entirely plucked my eyebrows and even my eyelashes. I hate this habit - I hate the way it makes me look, and I feel like a freak for not being able to stop. What is this, and what can I do about it?"
