Taken in picturesque Innisfail Northern Queensland, Australia! Beautiful country!
The car is a Morris 'Bullnose' Oxford. It's a 'veteran' car meaning it's older than 'vintage'. Vintage car models first release date were 1920. This model was first released in 1919. This car was also manufactured in 1923 on my grand mothers exact birthday!
The car belongs to my uncle who bought the parts, and built it from the ground up. He says it's like a time machine, and it's true.
When you get into the back of this thing it feels like you've travelled back 90 years into the past! It was a little surreal when I first go into the back of it with the top up. I felt like I'd time travelled! haha.
Leather seats with no seatbelt, sitting in the back with the top down, feels exhilarating....like you're moments away from dying. haha. I was shooting footage in the back, doing a close up and didn't realise he was turning, and I slide across the back seat a little....that got the blood pumping!
At just over 11 horsepower, it's not going to throw you back in your seat, but it's a great experience none the less!
Shot on canon 5d mark ii with zeiss 50mm f1.4. A mixture of footage and timelapse. Some footage was sped up, others were stills converted to timelapse. My favourite is the shadow's timelapse of the dashboard, just after the title.
I used the CINEMA picture style for all this footage. This is all ungraded footage. I also used the Lightcraft Workshop variable ND, to nuance my exposure. A great tool!
