This film is based on the true story of Ahmad Darwish, an East Jerusalem resident studying in America who lost his permanent residency following the Interior Ministry’s claim that he resided abroad for over six years. The Interior Ministry official confiscated Ahmad’s residency card on the spot and he became a stateless person. זהו סרט המבוסס על סיפורו האמיתי של אחמד דרוויש, תושב מזרח ירושלים וסטודנט בארה"ב אשר איבד את זכאותו לתושבות הקבע שלו לאחר שלטענת משרד הפנים שהה בחו"ל למעלה משש שנים. פקיד משרד הפנים החרים את תעודת התושב של אחמד בו במקום והוא הפך לנתין חסר מדינה. ללא תעודת מסע או תעודת זהות, אחמד עובר על החוק בישראל אך גם לא יכול לחזור לארה"ב.
