Along the concept of voluntary servitude developed by Étienne de la Boétie in the XVI century the video clip wants to show how the daily practice of the human beings is actually to find spaces to live in and to perceive as “personal”. In doing this each individual tends to repeat the same way every day, to frequent the same places, to meet the same people. Within the geopolitical dynamics this issue is a relevant human factor, but almost never considered by experts, leaders, decision makers looking for accepted and stable solutions of a crisis.
The video clip takes examples from documentaries and TV news related to Ulster and Brexit, but also from movies and other sources in order to stress how real is this kind of behavior and how it is necessary to consider it for reaching a mutual-aid-based civil society.
The videoclip has been presented in the 2nd ICAAG conference in Rabastens (France) 12-16 June 2019). Sources are mainly in English; there are conceptual subtitles in English when the source is in a different language.
