This is the first year that we ventured into the great outdoors to find a cute little christmas tree to mark the holidays. The kids were really excited and it was the first time my dear wife had done this. After trekking up a small hill the heavens seemed to open and reveal a particularly nice specimen of evergreen. Being conservative and obeying the incessant nagging of my mother and wife that it was too big, I cut the tree 5 feet up its trunk. Leah helped me haul it (no easy feat). A quick measurement confirmed my wife and mom's concerns, namely that it was too big. I wasn't about to take no for an answer and after cramming down a dozen x-mas cookies, somehow stood the behemoth up in our living room. There was no room to sit but I didn't care. It was beautiful!
