On December 21, 2011, Bell by Bell created the opportunity for anyone excited about public space, music, and cold weather to be a part of a procession that generated a coordinated, unique, soundscape on the streets of New York as part of Make Music Winter. Through the distribution of 50 bells and the guidance of a team of flag conductors, the piece shimmered in the streets. Each participant contributed to the creation of a sonorous, atmospheric piece through carrying out one simple act: ringing a bell.
