NAFA BRINGS THE MAGIC OF FUR TO MOSCOW
The invitation for the annual NAFA Gala show in Moscow beckoned guests to Saltykov’s Mansion at Catherine’s Park to enjoy the magic and mystery of the 2011/2012 designer fur collections.
The evening event on October 10th began with a champagne reception for media, local celebrities, government officials and VIP members of the trade. Michael Mengar, President & CEO of NAFA, welcomed the crowd of almost 500 guests who were eager to join the festivities and recognized that the NAFA brand was now a leading force in the Russian market.
In recognition of the strong support of the Russian market, a tribute to Top Lot buyers preceded the show. Over 20 of NAFA’s Top Lot buyers from the 2011 auctions were present to receive their awards on stage.
Television crews from World Fashion Channel, Fashion News and three major Russian television stations vied for position along with cameras from national television stations and leading fashion magazines and newspapers to cover this exciting event.
International designers included Michael Kors, Gianfranco Ferre, Guy Laroche, Zac Posen, Dennis Basso, Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung, Bibhu Mohapatra, Sherry Cassin and Feraud.
The collections from Russian fur design labels, Vtoroy Mekhovoy, Avenue and EL-EZER as well as Greek fur brand Kasapis Bros. reached new levels in design and craftsmanship and were reflected in the country’s most popular choices in fur: Black NAFA, NAFA Northern Lynx Cat and sable. Russia’s largest retailer, Snow Queen, offered highlights of several of the international brands that they feature in store highlighting NAFA Silver Fox and Black NAFA mink.
The collection from Maurizio Braschi wowed the audience with spectacular designs featuring the finest of NAFA Mink in haute couture cocktail dresses and evening gowns. This proved once again that NAFA’s fine quality mink was soft and supple enough to be used as fabric.
The gala show finale featured a Black NAFA garment from selected designers and fashion brands. There was international diversity in design but the natural beauty of Black NAFA was the underlying theme of each and every piece in this showcase.
As the many guests departed, they spoke of the magic of the evening but thought that perhaps it was not such a mystery …NAFA offered the finest quality furs in the world and these superior furs in the hands of experienced craftsmen resulted in the most desirable furs in the world.
