My submission for the One Day on Earth 11-11-11 filming project.

I hiked through the moonlight for two hours to the top of Raspberry Ridge. (I need a lighter camera and tripod!) It's in the Pike National Forest near Buffalo Creek at the top of a technical mountain bike trail.

I had seen the view on the trail before and I thought it would look good at sunrise with the beams of sunlight streaking across the boulders and ragged landscape of the wildfire burn area. The sunrise started out quite incredible with a huge mass of orange clouds, but the sun never broke through and streaked across the landscape like I hoped it would. Still, the light was interesting.

I sped the footage up to condense forty minutes down to two. Music is by Richard Ball...used with permission.
