It is a gift to “sit at the feet of Jesus” and to open ourselves up to him. It is a gift to hear his wisdom, to see his truth, and to experience his love. This week’s text follows the Good Samaritan story in Luke. Jesus, goes to the house of Mary and Martha. One sister stays busy. The other sits at Jesus’ feet and listens. To have an opportunity to learn from the one who is from God is an absolute gift. However, when we come to Jesus, we discover that it is more than a gift. To sit at the feet of Jesus and to learn from him is the “one needful thing.” We need this gift.
