This short documentary was filmed during a two-week independent study project for my university, LIU Global. It was my intention to capture as honestly as I could, given the short time I had, the reality of life for a displaced person living in a border city and/or in semi-permanent camps. This film was shot in the border city of Mae Sot, Thailand. The conflict in Burma undoubtedly runs deep and this documentary only skims the surface of the issue. I hope, however, that it brings to you some awareness of the struggle that the Burmese people have faced for years, and continue to face today. Awareness is the first step toward positive action and positive change. The process of making this documentary was an incredible learning experience for me. It is my greatest hope that by watching this your eyes are opened to an important and pressing global issue, just as mine were while filming.
