Over the period of 6 months, a group of youth attended workshops and worked together to create their own theatre performance with mentorship and guidance from Zoukak Theatre Company. In the beginning of June 2019, they presented the final outcome of the project: “Of Love and Onions”, a theatre performance about Love and all the issues surrounding it in our societies; religion, race and sexuality.

There are people and more people. There is you and there is us too… There’s an apple and some onions… A bag of onions and some pomegranates… some pomegranate juice.
There’s Quais and there’s Abir… and their fathers too…
There’s Rami and there’s Patrick… and their parents too…
There is Love, and all the issues around it; religion, race and sexuality…
We have everything here and we are always mixing onions with pomegranates.
