A montage of surf shots taken with my new Sony FS100 while visiting relatives in Venice, Florida over Christmas 2011.
While on a busy three day visit, I managed to capture some late-afternoon / early-evening surf images between rain drops on December 26th and 27th. The sequence contrasts relatively calm and gentile weather on the 26th with windy and stormy weather on the 27th.
All shots were taken near the Venice, Florida public fishing pier using a Sony NEX FS100 camera, Sony 18x200 kit lens, Manfrotto fluid head and tripod. The first two and last two clips of the sequence also employed a Singh-Ray variable ND filter.
Video and "surf" audio are primarily as shot from the camera, with the exception of some light color temp correction for a few of the rushes to improve compatibility with the sequence. The AbelCine "AB Range" picture profile was employed for all clips in the sequence.
Sound track was assembled and rendered from various Sony Loops and Samples using Sony ACID Pro software then mixed back with surf audio from the clips in Sony Vegas Pro.
This is a new camera for me in mid December and these are really some of the first images I have taken with it. I am quite pleased with the quality of the raw video and audio captured that day and I hope the internet compressed version gives justice to that quality.
