Created by 14 local youth filmmakers during our six-week summer program, 1988 is set in a dystopian alternate reality where communication channels are controlled by the Obsolete Corporation and a group of young activists are jamming the signals as a call for change. On the impetus of the Global Warming Art Project Grant, administered by Arts Services Initiative of WNY, 1988 is speculative documentary delving deeply into the complicated and urgent topic of global warming through a series of satirical skits and sobering interviews.
