We traveled to the island of Flores in October 2011. The island is located in eastern Indonesia. We continued our journey to Melo, a village in West Manggarai, Flores Island. We were greeted by an ancient traditional ritual called Caci.
Specifically, Caci is a traditional dance from Manggarai. It usually performed to welcome their guests. This dance has an attractive moves and the costumes are very artistic. This dance represents their happiness on welcoming their guests.
Before the dance began, the guests are treated by a glass of Sopi (traditional gin from Flores Island) and Sirih fruit at the main room. The banquet must be accepted in honor of their kindness. After that, they would be treated as brothers.
