A roaring tribute to heroes past overtook the skies over Monroe Regional Airport on Veteran’s Day 2010. The annual Warriors and Warbirds Airshow featured such celebrated performers as the U.S. Army’s Black Daggers Jump Team, Franklin’s Flying Circus, and Team RV. Through showmanship and a grand display of aeronautic skill, each group not only entertained the dense crowd, but paid homage to the skill and courage of our nation’s airborne veterans.
The featured performance of the weekend was that of TORA TORA TORA—a team from the Commemorative Air Force designed to recreate the Decmber 7th, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. Utilizing authentic, period Japanese fighters and bombers, as well as an impressive array of pyrotechnics, TORA TORA TORA both physically reenacts and narrates in detail the pivotal events of that day.
