I downloaded the Cinestyle color profile on a whim after trying to read up on it a lot and still not totally understanding it.

Then when I downloaded it, I realized that all it did was just assign the Cinestyle profile to one of my User Defined color profiles. As a photographer, I actually had used all three so it overrode whatever I set #3 to.

This video is a quick demo of how the various color profiles react with the 5D Mk II's sensor. Unless you have knowledge of color theory, editing may be a bit tough. But as you also see, Canon's color profiles are also tough to work with.

Edited in Lightroom 4 Beta and then thrown together quickly into iMovie HD. This is a very unscientific test.

Shot with the Canon 5D Mk II, 24-105mm f4 L IS, Rode Video Mic, Lightcraft Workshop Fader ND Mk II, and Kinotehnik LCDVF.

Please also note that I'm a photographer/photography content developer first and foremost. I'm dabbling in video after leaving it for years.
