16mm archival and painted, scratched film, 1 minute. Found film included was labeled 'Passover' and features ancient Egyptian paintings of Jewish slaves working. Pieces of found film were scratched with files on top of stones carved with viking runes depicting 'the self', 'breakthrough', and 'disruption'. The film was then carefully measured and cut to splice into a structuralist tapestry-like sequence of laboring slaves and searching lines. The Jewish slaves and viking runes represent both sides of my ancestry, and a desire to join them.
