Hula Girl is obliquely about a friend of ours who was a tireless ace with a hula hoop. The lyrics were stretched a bit to tell an expanded story. The band surges but it is Jane Mangini in particular (keys/synth) who puts this song over the top.
Hi5’s to all our friends who showed up on an early Sunday morning at the Brendan Behan Pub and danced, sang, wore hula skirts and fake leis and woke the sun up.
