Barbara Davenport, RNC, MSN, CNM, received her master's degree in nursing with a nurse-midwifery specialty from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn. She is American Midwifery Board Certified and a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She has attended more than 800 deliveries.
Prior to joining Pardee, Davenport served as an obstetrics outreach educator for Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, S.C., and previously served as the sole proprietor of the private nurse-midwife practice Premiere Birth and Women's Center in Norton, Ohio.
Davenport has received numerous awards during her career, including the Community Award from the March of Dimes in South Carolina and the Palmetto Gold Nursing Award SCNA.
Pardee Nurse-Midwifery provides an option for women who choose to receive their obstetrical and gynecological care from certified nurse-midwives. In addition to delivering babies, nurse-midwives take care of women throughout their life cycle -- from their first gynecological exam though menopause. Pardee's nurse-midwives are accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives, licensed in the state of North Carolina and are affiliate members of the medical staff at Pardee Hospital.
Pardee Nurse-Midwifery is a part of the Center for Women's Health at Pardee and is associated with Pardee OB/GYN Associates, Hendersonville Family Health Center (HFHC) and MAHEC.
