This is a polygonal mesh in Maya 7.
It was displaced by a bitmap of some lines and crosses using the Sculpt Polygons command.
Some Dynamic Simulation Springs were then added to the vertices of a Lattice Deformer. A Turbulence field was applied to those verts.
A flesh-colored Marble shader with a rotated Grid Bump Map was added to the mesh. The base material is Blinn.
The Dynamic Simulation was started to create the animation as TIFF files.
I compiled the rendered TIFFs into a QuickTime Movie
then Exported it as H.264 using the vimeo-reccomended settings.
