Presented by David Demaree
at Refresh Chicago on January 25, 2012
As the saying goes there are only two hard things in computer science, and one of them is naming things. Typekit's David Demaree will discuss the role of naming and domain modeling in making good software, with examples of good and bad patterns from the interrelated world of branding, user experience, and code.
We'll talk about how good naming conventions can help teams communicate with each other better and produce better code, how it can be dangerous when brands and domain language are mixed together, and how an app many of us take for granted features the greatest domain model of all time.
