This is part of a series of audio pieces I edited for Social Welfare Action Alliance as a class project. Our clients wanted an interview with each of the human services workers, with 2-3 accompanying photos.
Chris Callahan is a retired social worker of Child Protective Services. He is now involved in local organizations, like Social Welfare Action Alliance, that are concerned with issues of poverty. Callahan believes that many of society's woes stem from poverty. He also finds problems with the social services system when clients are forced to remain in their familiar environments that puts them at risk for relapsing.
