I very recently acquired a Telecine unit to start work on converting the thousands of feet of film my father has taken with his 8mm movie camera over the past 45 years.
This is my very first experiment with setting the machine up, learning the do's and don'ts of how to drive it, and starting to learn the skills needed to properly handle film.
The machine is from Tobin Cinema Systems - model TVT-8PHD which is a frame scanning HD telecine (scans 1024x768). You can read more about it here: tobincinemasystems.com/index_files/Page431.htm
2nd Edition: Re-uloaded 5th Feb - recaptured without dropping frames (disk array originally too slow) - and added a soundtrack as well
The film: Regular 8 8mm movie film (silent)
Telecine (frame scans) to a 30fps AVI file
Premiere Pro CS5.5 then used to restore to the original frame rate, which then conforms it to 25fps PAL TV.
The image is 1024x768 as scanned off the film. This particular render is 960x720. (Next time I will try upscaling rather than down scaling).
