A three-part project merging art, science, dance, music, and olfaction, with visual artist Carla Bengtson, composer Juliet Palmer, choreographer Darion Smith and video artist Jessie Rose Vala.
The project explores the overlapping cultural and natural forces which shape humans, animals, and language. Its outcomes include site-specific interventions in the landscape; an immersive museum installation; dance and music performances; scent sampling; and a project catalogue.
Premiering at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Eugene, Oregon, March 7-April 18, 2020.
All audio recorded in the outdoors — stones, sticks, lichen, tree roots and ambient sounds.
