Paul ends his first letter to Timothy on a beautiful and masterful note. He ends with grace (1 Timothy 6:21). 1 Timothy contains a host of imperatives for Timothy and the believers in Ephesus aimed at the soundness of God's church. What hope does Timothy and the church have for pursuing what makes for a sound church? The grace of God. The word grace, in this context, refers to God's divine favor and help. In Christ, both Timothy and the church in Ephesus have access to the power of God for gospel living. What we've seen since the very beginning of our study in 1 Timothy is that sound doctrine + sound leadership + sound living = a sound church, and underlying all of this is the grace of God. Praise God for His grace! Please join me in praying for MCC to constantly rely on the grace of God as we seek to be a sound church, marked by sound doctrine, sound leadership and sound living, for the glory of God and the joy of His people! Amen.
