To prove that the summer does not make sense without the sun, we’ve done an experiment using beads that only reveal their color when exposed to sun’s ultraviolet rays.
In Rio de Janeiro, an iconic world city for the summer, we’ve built an outdoor with over one million UV beads. Each bead reacted to ultraviolet rays functioning as a pixel that increased the intensity of its color according to sun exposure. In this way, the billboard could only be seen during the day, because when night falls the billboard goes back to white, the UV beads original color.
We’ve used NIVEA SUN sunscreen where we did not want the billboard to react to ultraviolet rays, to create an amazing piece of outdoor art.
