VoCA Talk: Tory Fair - Heap

On June 18, 2019, curator Jen Mergel sat down with artist Tory Fair at the Boston Center for the Arts to speak about how Fair’s research and interviews with artists presented in the 1996 exhibition More Than Minimal: Feminism and Abstraction in the ‘70s at the Rose Art Museum inspired her latest work—and her embrace of the archive as a generative force. The conversation traced the ways dialogue with her forebears' sculptures led Fair to mine new meaning in her own three-decade career and see her multi-layered sculptures, drawings, and photographs as part of this creative lineage and movement of "the More."
