This video is the second of the same project entitled aperactive which is a blend of the words aperture and interactive. The idea being that space can be divided by a wall that has both opaque and transparent qualities but is unidirectional in how it interacts with users. On one side a series of hexagons with pentagonal panels in its center intelligently rotate based on a distance reading coming from infrared sensors embedded in each triangle cut out. On the opposing side the wall consists of just hexagons and allow short glimps into the space beyond depending on that users interest. Panels rotate in sync with the specific distance of the user. In the case that somebody is 120 cm away the panels will be closed while 60 cm the panels will rotate 45 degrees all the way to 10 cm where they are completely open at 90 degrees.
