Malaysia is blessed with myriad of butterfly species, with no less than 2000 species being recorded. However, these fairy creatures may not be fluttering in the sky anymore. They, like other insect populations are threatened by habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change.
We can help change this. The Habitat Foundation is leading a major push to safeguard spaces for urban biodiversity. For our new 'BiodiverCity' video series, we have teamed up with Dr. Cyren Wong of Naturetalksback, who shares why butterflies are important to sustain our natural ecosystems, and how we can help them to thrive, even in urban landscapes.
