Ohioans need jobs! So does newly appointed Senator Eklund get right to work and offer legislation creating jobs for Ohioans? No!
Senator Eklund offers a bill allowing Mexican workers to drive in Ohio without an Ohio license for seven days before being required to get a special license.
Eklund's bill doesn't require foreign workers to submit to an eye exam or the written test Ohio citizens are required to pass. Eklund's legislation doesn't even require foreign workers to read English or understand our traffic signs.
Listen as members of the Middlefield Village Council object to licensing temporary foreign workers who don't have to prove they are financially responsible, can't read English and can't read our traffic signs.
Eklund responds by asking council members if they want to deny employers the chance "to make a buck".
