The Dresdner Sinfoniker and the Pet Shop Boys recorded a new soundtrack for Sergej Eisenstein's "Battleship Potemkin" in 2004. It is a mixture of the electronic, pop-oriented sounds with which the “Pet Shop Boys” managed to make a name for themselves worldwide, as well as the depth and richness of a classical yet modern ensemble.
After Edmund Meisel and Dmitri Shostakovich, this is the third official setting of the film, which was premiered by the Dresdner Sinfonikern in September 2004 in London’s Trafalgar Square in front of 35,000 spectators.
