Strata Collective are a group of experienced artists working with story, music and new media to create playful, innovative learning experiences. Soundlines encourages new ways of seeing and experiencing oneself in relation to the layered histories of landscape, and to one’s peers. The project delivered active learning through field trips and pervasive media technology, specialist training in new skills – film, animation, music, mediascape (media layered into the landscape, triggered by gps when walking with headphones and PDA). This short video outlines the use of locative media in Soundlines and some of the methods used in gathering qualitative data for research.
