"Oro" is the first official single of italian singer Raymond Horo, now officially available on all streaming platforms.
The song is apparently a mythicized self-celebrating propaganda (during the hook the singer keeps repeating his name); in reality it is a nihilistic, melancholic and desperate urban fairy tale, a cry of pain, a still-life painting that brutally describes an inner malaise of a generation. The sensitivity of the singer towards inequalities, politics, current and past events and above all the ephemeral nature of today's relationships has made him increasingly shy and disillusioned, an alien on a planet that he does not recognize as his own.
The Russian roulette we see in the video, with the consequent death of everybody sitting at the table, is a symbol of how voraciously present consumerism is in our society, even in interpersonal relationships. What matters now is individualism, the word "social" seems to be antiquated, it has a vintage scent. In the next scene, statuesque corpses of refugees are in the background, as the rapper continues to perform, completely disinterested in their desperate lives and their future that no longer exists. This video is a provocative political stance towards today's society in Italy and the unstoppable growing racism.
The two children who play destroying the paper Twin Towers, are the symbol of how this society has normalized the tragedy, without ever facing the causes, the deep meanings, leaving shadows on the unspeakable truths. The children are a symbol of a blind generation, sacrificed for the interests of others, lost in a highway full of likes without ever finding their way home.
