Video by Cris McConkey. February 4, 2012, Trumansburg High School Auditorium. Residents of the Town of Hector had been demanding that their town board convene a public hearing to hear their concerns over hydro-fracking, but the town board refused. Finally, they ran out of excuses. Over 200 attended. The meeting was held in the neighboring Town of Ulysses as no suitable venue large enough could be found in the Town of Hector. The town includes many wineries on the east shore of Seneca Lake, and encompasses the Fingerlakes National Forest.
