Collision Grounds by Anya Stewart-Maggs (Video) and Joanne Armitage (Sound)
Collision Grounds is an audio-visual installation which, at moments throughout it duration, is performed by the artists. The material was generated from a series of responses between the artists who exchanged video and sound clips over the course of several months. Pairing electronic sound with footage of landscapes gathered from a range of geographical locations, the work foregrounds the tactile, repetitive, shifting noise patterns that occur across nature, sound and in digital technology. The performance saw the artists use live coding as a way of generating improvised sound and visuals with code.
Video made for installation at Assembly House, Leeds 11 July 2019.
